Family Friendly Options
Parents,
We love your children and want to provide them a safe and caring environment to grow and learn while you are involved in your group. There are 3 main options for your children:
- AWANA on Wednesday nights - If your Community Group meets on Wednesday nights at the church, we have a dynamic ministry happening on campus for your children called "AWANA"
- AWANA at YOUR Community Group - NEW! - We excited to announce that we now offer the AWANA program for Community Groups wherever your group meets. Many groups will offer the AWANA curriculum specially packaged for Community Groups for children age 3 through 5th grade within their community group. Parents may choose to rotate and facilitate the easy to use lessons or pitch in to pay a minimal fee for a childcare provider. Please ask your leader about the details.
- You work out your own childcare with other families in your group or have a sitter at home.
Our goal is that the issue of childcare would never deter you or your family from being a part of a vibrant, growing Community Group. If you have any questions about any of these three options, please contact me and I would be happy to discuss it with you.
In HIS Service,
Pastor Jason Yon

AWANA for Community Groups!
If you are new to the Awana program, the name “Awana” comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 – “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” - Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. It is the same program we use with children on Wednesday evenings and the greatest strength of the program is helping, encouraging, and challenging children to memorize God’s Word.
Your children will learn many Biblical truths and how to apply them to their lives. The club’s goal is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel message and train them to serve Christ.
Children are given a handbook of verses to learn and memorize and projects to do. Parents are encouraged to work with their children to learn the verses and then come to the Community Group AWANA meeting and share them with their AWANA Leader. As children learn verses, they are given awards to display on their Awana vest or t-shirt.
The AWANA club time is broken down into 3 segments – Worship and Devotion Time, Handbook Time, and Game Time. In “Handbook Time,” we will be listening to the verses from the handbook that the children are memorizing at home with you. The children will be given 2 “helps” on their verse. If they are not able to get it with 2 helps, we will encourage them to work on the verse some more and come back and tell us next week.
If your Community Group is not currently offering the Awana program, talk to your Community Group leader for more information.
