|  | Dear Grace Covenant Family, Here is an interesting question: When Jesus was on the Earth, did He spend more time with the crowds or with a small community?
The answer? Although He taught and ministered to the crowds, Jesus really spent most of His time with a community of 12 disciples.
As you read the Gospels, you discover that Jesus was pursued by the crowds, yet intentionally chose to invest in 12 men that would launch the early Church. They did life together. In these times, they faced challenges, shared meals, laughed, and grew together. What a great model for us to follow!
It is impossible to do life with the “crowd.” You can get lost in the crowd, but discover life in a small community of friends. On this Sunday morning and Monday night, we will conclude the “Discover Real Life” series as we talk about the value of Community Groups and give you an opportunity to hear from some people who have discovered the value of doing life with others.
One other thing…from time to time, I have shared an observation with you about the pervasive negative messages in our nation’s media culture. Whenever there is a movie, etc. that clearly offers a theme consistent with the truth of God’s Word, I believe that believers should support that endeavor. The latest example is a new movie called “The Trial,” which will debut at Our Town Cinemas in Davidson on September 10 th. We’ll provide more information in this weekend’s services.
