Pure Desire Ministry International (PDMI) is devoted to healing men and women who have become addicted to sexual behaviors harmful to their social, family and spiritual well being. By supporting local churches, PDMI is setting men and women free, so they can walk in the saving Grace of the Lord.

Based on nearly three decades of local church ministry, I have come to truly believe the church is the hope of the world. I also know that the majority of men and many of the women sitting in the pews, on the platform and at the pulpit are losing the battle of sexual purity. This is based on years of counseling men and women who have struggled to overcome this all consuming addiction and by numerous surveys conducted in recent years (see Staggering Statistics at end of page) that verify this assertion beyond question. God has called Pure Desire Ministries International (PDMI) to help local churches and their frequently overloaded pastors, address the unspoken, undermining truth of sexual bondage invading our society today. That is not to say PDMI is limited to just the church environment. Across the nation, small groups are using Pure Desire Ministry materials in corporate and community environments.

So what makes PDMI so effective? Over the last ten years, at the church where Ted Roberts is a pastor, they have developed and refined the teaching methods and materials of PDMI. During this decade, thousands of men and women have gone through the healing process with astonishing success. You can read some of their testimonials following these comments.

Why is PDMI Unique?

  1. Pure Desire Ministry International (PDMI) takes the healing ministry of Christ past level one addiction. Level one is where an individual can get free from their addiction simply by joining a small group and becoming accountable to others. I have counseled thousands of men who have prayed, read the Bible, been part of a group, and tried as hard as they could but never get free. In fact, I would estimate that this is the case for over ninety percent of the men I have counseled. PDMI addresses the level two and level three sexual addict. Level two is where the individual can’t stop the behavior and level three addicts are not only uncontrollable, but the habit begins to erode their soul, their family and their faith.
  2. PDMI realizes that the problem isn’t just a guy’s problem. In our sexually charged culture more and more women are being drawn into sexual bondage. A recent Internet survey revealed forty percent of women online are engaging in cyber-sex behavior (Counselor June 2006, pg. 34 “Women and Sex Addiction” by Dr. Patrick J. Carnes). Our program addresses the fact that sexual bondage and associated struggles are a family systems issue. We offer a full compliment of materials that are used to guide Christ’s ministry for men and women. For example, wives who suddenly discover their husbands have been living a secret life desperately need a ministry to support them, so that the marriage can survive. Our methods and materials are practical and applicable to daily life.
  3. Finally, through Sexy Christian seminars, PDMI reaches into the local church to help in the development of healthy sexuality. The only effective way to stand against the sexual onslaught of hell in our land today is not to simply shout “No!” but to present a passionate “Yes!” “Yes” represents a healthy marriage which beautifully displays God’s holistic plan for men and women.
